Some Days Call For A Classic

Without making to big of a deal about it, a lot has been happening in the niche of fiberglass fly rods since I wrote this T.F.M. blog post earlier in the year with a few predictions for the coming year and a half.  It's been interesting to see most of the points that I mentioned already coming to fruition along with a few surprises that I didn't see coming...like the Redington Butter Stick

When I wrote that blog post, one thing that I really didn't take into full consideration is that with companies like Redington (among other big players) getting into fiberglass that it shouldn't come as a surprise to see ads in your favorite fly fishing magazines and on websites touting these new fly rods.  In turn look for more articles and mentions online and in print as well as fly rods are tested and reviewed.

Check out these T.F.M. posts for more on the Butter Stick.  I had a chance to play with the 6' three weight and now have the 8' five weight which I'll post a review on soon.

Thanks, Cameron, I have been keeping a close eye on the initial responses to this rod. It may have a place in my corner rod rack!
