The other day a box arrived in the mail from Redington which contained one of the soon to be released i.D fly reels. This large arbor die-cast fly reel will turn some heads not only for what it offers for the price but the backside of the frame has been designed to personalize with dozens of choices of high quality i.D decals. Redington lifted the Comrade artwork from somewhere and sent along a custom decal that I quickly affixed to the backside.
The Redington i.D fly reel will be available in three sizes (3/4, 5/6, and 7/8/9) and priced at $89.99. i.D decals will be priced at $4.99 each. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some limited edition decals elsewhere as well as the dimensions wouldn't be that tough to figure out.
The i.D fly reel is listed as "Available Soon" on the website and I'll update the post when there is a solid release date. In the meantime, I need to spin some backing and line on this genius fly reel and take it out on the water.
