T.F.M. Spotting - Riki's Creek Tarpon

Some time back Riki Rahman posted a stack of photographs on the Fiberglass Flyrodders forum of him looking for tarpon in a Malaysian creek.

I was immediately impressed with the photograph of Riki casting from the bridge and honestly it was what inspired me in putting together the T.F.M. Spotting Photo Contest.

It is only fitting that Riki would submit this photo as the first submission for the T.F.M. Spotting Photo Contest.

Gypsy Rod Works Steffen Build

This past summer Mark Malczynski of Gypsy Rod Works sent an email mentioning that he had just placed an order with Mark of Steffen Brothers Fly Rods and that he had an 8'6" three piece 5/6 weight blank coming in the stack of blanks. That was all the prompting that I needed to send along a deposit and begin the wait until the blank could be rolled and Mark would have the time to finish out the build.

The rod arrived today and I could not be happier with it. Mark's skill for crafting fine custom fly rods is more impressive with each build. Top notch work on a straight as an arrow blank with wonderful flex.

T.F.M. Spotting - The Musky Chronicles

Lee Church gave us a glimpse of his upcoming DVD this week with the trailer for the Musky Chronicles. The trailer has gone viral on the fly fishing blog and networking sites the last few days and left everyone wondering when the full movie will be released.

T.F.M./W.J. "Old School" Contest

I am excited to announce a series of T.F.M./William Joseph facebook Fan page based contests to take place over the course of 2010. The prizes for these contests will come from William Joseph's Old School line of gear.

The first contest prize will be the Old School Chest Pack with the Day Pack.


THE RULES:

1. Contest will run from January 1st through January 31st, 2010.
2. Participants must be a Fan of both T.F.M. and William Joseph on facebook.
3. Upload a photograph of your favorite piece of Old School fly gear that you have in your collection onto the T.F.M. facebook Fan page. This could be a fly rod, reel, or other accessory that just embodies the words "Old School" to you.

5. A winner will be randomly chosen and sent a Chest Pack/Day Pack.

T.F.M. Spotting - Dane's New Year Cheers!

Dane Fuller got his "New Year Cheers" started this afternoon and with snow again in the forecast for Childress, Texas thought best to use his T.F.M. skully cap to keep his bottle of Crown Royal warm.

Dane exclaimed, "It's not just for your crown, it's for your CROWN!"

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2010 is just a couple hours away.

Like Father Like Son

Our son Finn caught napping yesterday with his new wooden trout rattle.

He is rather fond of it and I am not surprised. Like father like son, I think he's already a bit of a fish fanatic.

T.F.M. Spotting - F.G.F.F. Edition

Recently Alex Landeen, of the Fat Guy Fly Fishing blog, passed along a photograph of he and Aaron Dennett up to their usual vise and vices hijinks while repping a T.F.M. decal on one of his Pelican camera cases.

Besides doing his fair share of content gathering on F.G.F.F, Alex also writes the Landeen Photography Blog which showcases his work behind the camera lens on and off assignment.

Alex, thanks for the photo and I'm still waiting for a couple F.G.F.F. decals of my own just so you know. HA...
