These spools range from strikingly vintage to a bit on the gaudy side but Mike Carlson has a long list of projects and various blanks to give these threads a try on.

Mountainshark Rod Company will soon unveil a website but until then if you'd like to talk with Mike Carlson about a possible custom build, he can be reached by email at mike@mountainsharkrods.com or by phone at 307-880-3331.

Yeah Mike, some of those threads will give you a lot of options for some one of kind rods. Good luck and let's see some.
Now I know where to go if I ever decide to tweak that old JC Higgins fly rod! It's got those candy-cane red and wite striped wraps. The finish is fine, so it doesn't need a "stripped down to parade rest" rebuild. The wraps get a bit loose when they get wet (re-varnish?) and it could use a stripper guide (lots of line slap).
