Sam Snyder recently started a new blog called Headwaters as a way to pass along pieces of his research and his interest on the history of fly fishing.
So far I've learned quite a bit and expect that Headwaters will continue to be an excellent reference and read as his site grows.

Interesting site. I also read the earlier post about how he used flyfishing as part of his PhD program.
Cameron
thanks for the shout-out.
Fin-Follower, I did manage to use fly fishing as the focus of my dissertation work exploring the social dynamics and politics of trout restoration, particularly rio grande cutts in my home state of NM. Now, writing a book on fly fishing and the history of coldwater-conservation and trout management (and mismanagement). Stay tuned to Headwaters for snippets of that work.
cheers
