CRKT Guppie Multi Tool Review

A couple months ago the Outdoor Blogger Network posted a Gear Review Opportunity to demo the CRKT Guppie Multi Tool. I tossed a comment in the thread and as fortune would have it I was chosen. Since receiving the Guppie I've had a good time using this tool around the house, in the garage, at the office, but it's most handy function may be on the water.

I like to fish with what a very close friend of mine calls "Junky Old Reels" and have amassed quite a collection of vintage J.W. Young and Martin fly reels that number in the dozens.  One of the realities of using some of these old clicker fly reels is that instead of a spool release lever there is sometimes a screw instead holding the spool in place to the frame of the reel.  Typically this is not a problem but there have been a few times when I've needed to remove the spool while on the water and couldn't due to not having the right tool for the job in my pack.  Adding the Guppie to the list of necessary accessories has solved this issue.

The Guppie is a well thought out multi tool which includes a blade, adjustable wrench, pocket clip, carabiner that doubles as a bottle opener, screwdriver with four different type bits, and a LED flashlight on the bit holder that attaches to the frame of the multi tool magnetically.

The Guppie Multi Tool retails for $39.99 and certainly worth that for such a quality product with so many possible uses.

Thanks to the Outdoor Blogger Network for organizing this and CRKT for providing the Guppie Multi Tool for demo and review.

Me likey- definitely must look into that one. It looks more pocket friendly than my Leatherman.

FR...just pop the bit holder off and it does slide in the pocket pretty nicely.
