Last week Collin Carlson of Finpusher began offering some excellent looking Finpusher fitted caps on his website which 20% of the proceeds will be sent to Terry Edelmann of Fisheads Flies N Lore to assist in funding a video documentary project on wild Pacific coast steelhead.
Collin wrote... "Terry is making a documentary film to educate the public about wild steelhead along the Pasific coast from Mexico to Alaska. Topics covered will include, but are not limited too, loss of habitat due to over population, logging, mining, irrigation, dams, pre and post hatchery wild steelhead numbers, and flooding.
The film will also cover the "steelhead wellfare system" that the government has created through hatchery fish and the facts about how few wild steelhead are alive as a result.
Mega loads of oil being shipped along the Clearwater River and Locksaw River up through Idaho and Montana that would decimate every living thing if they were to spill. There will be nterviews with old timers who have watched the decline of wild steelhead first hand and will also be documented through photos and journals. This documentary is four years in the making to this point and will continue to need funding until it is complete sometime in late 2012."
