This past weekend Mike McFarland, of the McFarland Rod Company, held one of his twice yearly "gatherings" at The Feathered Hook in Coburn, Pennsylvania.
Custom rod builder Matt Leiderman attended the Spring 2011 Gathering and chronicled the weekend with his camera. He was very gracious and allowed me to post his photographs with this slideshow for the T.F.M. readership to enjoy.
These weekends have become famous among the growing membership of the Fiberglass Flyrodders forum with excellent meals provided by Mike's wife and sister, untold numbers of fly rods to cast and demo, libations of all sorts enjoyed each evening, and of course of a bit of fly fishing mixed in as well on the local waters.
The McFarland Gatherings are yet another meeting of those who thoroughly enjoy casting and fishing fiberglass fly rods and I hope to attend an upcoming event in the near future.
