Vermillion Bay Rod Company CTS Build

Lane Pelissier at Vermillion Bay Rod Company sent me a few photographs of a fiberglass fly rod build that he is finishing on a CTS Quartz blank, carbon fiber full wells grip, and Honduran Rosewood burl insert both of which he turned himself.

The carbon fiber grip is certainly "New School" and that is some of the prettiest wood I've seen on an insert.

I have a thing for good burl.

Great looking handle and insert. Have always wanted to try a solid handle...

cliftz...VBRC is the shop to talk to about getting a solid handle done if you're interested.

The handle looks cool, and it's an interesting idea. But I wonder if it doesn't get slippery when wet?

Not slick at all, just as a wood grip on a fly rod or on a hammer isn't slick. This rod will be going to Cameron for review.

thanks Cameron. I'll definitely have a 'visit' over with them. Thanks.
