WOODSTICK

The Woodstick event will be held this Saturday and Sunday, May 21st and 22nd, at the Catskills Fly Fishing Center and Museum in Livingston Manor, New York.

Fred Paddock of FH Paddock Fly Rods has been instrumental in organizing this event which celebrates classic fly tackle being made by modern rod builders and gear makers.

Fred wrote...  "The CFFCM is a fifty-three acre property bordering the Willowemoc Creek.  The fly fishing museum is on the grounds and worth a look.  The event is themed as classic tackle by modern makers.  Craftsmen from the United States, Japan, and Holland will be in attendance.  These are makers of bamboo and fiberglass fly rods, reels, and classic tackle.  Their work will be there for sale and display.

The event is held in a relaxed atmosphere.  There will be a donation to the CFFCM, 100% of the collection of tables fees.  This will be presented to the director of the CFFCM as a donation to preserve the traditions of fly fishing.

Hardy will be introducing the Hardy Cup, a casting competition for bamboo rods.  The course will be there for practice and there will be judges (for those who cannot attend the Summerfest) there for a certain time."
