Nap Time

Yesterday the children were put down for their afternoon nap and since Mrs. Manifesto ended up falling asleep in Hadley's bed I decided to sneak out on the pond for a quick afternoon session in the kayak and see if I could find a couple bluegills willing to rise up for foam fly.

In and all not a bad way to spend an hour or so on a hot afternoon with a couple large bluegill caught and some quiet time enjoyed on the pond.

Looks like a great way to fill your solitude. Nice looking flies too.

Cam - what rod and line did you use? The blank and wrap looks South Fork like. - Neil

Nice. Great set of pics Cam. We've been doing better than we have in years on big gills up here this year. Looking forward to your visit to Frenchmans' with us soon.

Neil...the fly rod is a SFRC Glass 7' 4/5 weight model. Very nice with lots of power. I used a H&H 5DT on it. TFM review coming soon on that.

James...yes. I can't wait. I am looking forward to getting back to Michigan and up north too.

I love catching blue gills on a little top water popper! Great pictures - I love the rounded effect.

S&D...thanks. There is just something about warmwater that makes me think about saturating the color just a little bit to brighten them up.
