Today's gear giveaways are a mix of items that my wife and I have had a chance to field test all summer and then one that I hope to use and review in the coming year.
FISHPOND NIMBUS GUIDE PACK
A couple weeks before IFTD I received an email with a breakdown of new products for 2012 from Fishpond and the item that stuck out was the Nimbus Guide Pack. While at the industry show I put hands on the Nimbus Guide Pack and was even more impressed. The Nimbus Guide Pack uses a new lightweight recycled fabric called CYCLEPOND and is large enough to hold fly gear, two large water bottles, and even have room left for a DSLR camera and maybe a second lens too. This large hip pack can be slung with a comfortable shoulder strap and the hip straps are ventilated as well. The Nimbus Guide Pack is priced right at $109 and should be available in early 2012 for purchase.
REDINGTON TECHNICAL SHIRTS
We spent a lot of time in the pool and in the kayaks this summer and I more or less lived in my Redington long sleeve Lost River Tee for the past six months. The Lost River Tee is lightweight, UPF 30+, and has a relaxed fit. The Lost River Tee can be worn for sun protection or as a cold weather layer as well. A lot of function in a single shirt.
Mrs. Manifesto has been wearing a long sleeve Chelan Tee on paddle trips and is likewise impressed. The Chelan Tee fits great and the finger loops on each sleeve keep the shirt in place across the top of her hands for excellent sun protection.
Check out the Redington website for great choices in fly fishing gear, waders, and apparel. I have been very impressed with the offerings that Redington has released over the last couple of years and their focus on keeping fly fishing fun and affordable.

A T.F.M. reader will be one of the first to have a Nimbus Guide Pack from this drawing and may have to wait a few weeks before it is shipped. One male and one female winner will be chosen for the technical long sleeve shirts as well.
