L.L. Bean 100th Anniversary

In college I lived with a couple fellows from Maine who religiously preached of L.L. Bean and one summer even traveled back to their native state for a week of fly fishing, camping, and of course spent considerable time at L.L. Bean in Freeport.   I cashed in far to much of my meager summer earnings in that store on the trip but fifteen years later I am still using the tent, stove, and other items purchased then.

This year marks L.L. Bean's 100th Anniversary which is quite a landmark for a company that continues to provide solid gear and clothing with an unbeatable warranty.

The 2012 Fishing Catalog is now online and full of new and interesting gear for this year.  The Pocket Water Fly Rods impressed quite a few at IFTD this past August.

I love LL Bean. One of my first fiberglass rods was an LL Bean Featherlite from 1954. I loved that rod.

I'm a transplanted Vermonter living in Maine, I'm learning to love LL Beans. We make several trips a year to the Flagship store. Usually for the Spring Fishing Expo and whenever we are going by and have the time. Good gear and great service, just like Ol' L.L. in the beginning. My heart still belong to Orvis though.
