It's been awhile (like years actually) since I've shared a glass build with a rattan grip. I've always thought that rattan wrapped on a fly rod grip certainly gives the build it's very own unique look.
This striking fly rod build was completed recently by Lee Orr of 304 Rod Company and built on a 7'6" Lamiglas four weight blank. Lee matched the rattan grip with aluminum hardware and a spalted maple reel seat.
Lee's work until now has been strictly with bamboo but that could change as he has a few more glass blanks to build out in the coming months.
Check out the 304 Rod Company website for more information and examples of Lee's work.
