Check out the latest video shortie from Geoff Samples of Scientific Anglers/Ross Reels which talks you through proper fly line care and maintenance.
You can buy a lot of different things to supposedly keep fly lines cleaner or shoot better but I've found that a regular washing of fly lines in warm soapy water and then wiped off with a washcloth to be the best way to prolong the life of a fly line.
With fly lines approaching the $100 mark it's certainly worth taking a few minutes a couple times a season to give them a bath.

I always have a slight cynical feeling when line manufacturers tells us how to take care of your fly line.
Their business model is to sell us fly lines, not keep them in great shape so we can use them for years on end?...
Or am I just ready for the weekend? :)
Jay...I hear you on that...but I was impressed that Geoff started off the video mentioning warm soapy water. I've read and watched other videos that went against that idea in order to sell one of their cleaning products.
Yeah, and they say to wash salt water off of your gear as well. I'll show them! I'm never washing salt off anything again, and my gear's lifetime will probably be extended threefold! Not going to sucker me into destroying my gear and boat to pad their wallets!
David...good luck with that. HA...
