A couple of months ago a thread started innocently enough on the Fiberglass Flyrodders forum about the Studio Thin Line fly rod builds out of Koichi Ishizaka shop in Japan. This lead to another thread more recently as several other members of the forum who had placed orders had begun to receive these special fly rods and posted a few photos of these brown weave beauties.
I've thought long over and over the last couple weeks about ordering one of these but likely don't have the need for another three weight...even as special as one of these would be.
I recently traded emails with Koichi Ishizaka and he passed along that he has a very limited stock of these blanks remaining. For those interested it's time to break out the Yen to U.S. dollar calculator.
