International Glass Rod Expo

Over the weekend of May 18th and 19th, 2013 the first International Glass Rod Expo will be taking place at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum in Livingston Manor, New York.  This will be a weekend of fiberglass fly rods new and old, presentations, history, and fellowship.  Every "Glass Geek" within a couple hour drive (or airplane flight) should plan on attending.

This event has been planned and organized by Mike McFarland of McFarland Rods and Dr. Todd E.A. Larson of The Whitefish Press and presentations over the weekend include the following...
  • Victor R. Johnson - History of the Glass Rod
  • Mike McFarland - Rolling Glass Blanks
  • Cameron Mortenson - The Reinvention of the Fiberglass Fly Rod
  • Dr. Todd E.A. Larson - Arthur Howald: The Father of the Glass Fly Rod
  • Joe Cornwall
  • Buckly Juhasz - Hardy Sceptres: A History
This should be a very enjoyable weekend and I am very much looking forward to to meeting everyone at the expo.  I am honored to have been asked to speak and I also hope to spend some time on the nearby rivers as well.

Please check out the International Glass Rod Expo website for details and trip planning suggestions.
