Tenkara Summit 2013

Over the last several years the tenkara method has been a very interesting movement to watch.  Like fiberglass, it's certainly a niche within fly fishing, but has gained a lot of momentum with more and more anglers getting into it.

This momentum was undeniably created by Daniel Galhardo when Tenkara USA was formed and he has done a very good job of promoting this new angle (at least to western anglers) on fly fishing.  As a way to educate and meet other tenkara anglers, Tenkara USA has put on a yearly gathering called the Tenkara Summit.

The third annual Tenkara Summit, which is sponsored by both Tenkara USA and Mossy Creek Fly Fishing, will be held May 11-12, 2013 in Harrisburg, Virginia and looks to be two days full of instruction, fellowship, and fishing.

Check out the Tenkara USA website for more information about this year's Tenkara Summit.

Thanks for introducing me to the Tenkara method! Love it and it adds an entirely unique dimension to your fly fishing game. Awesome post as always!

Al...next trip out to Colorado we'll have to link up for some tenkara on the Poudre River. Maybe we can even get BDF to try it as well.
