After a few weeks of cool and rainy spring weather, we're finally getting into a stretch of warm days and the nights aren't cooling down like they were just a week or so ago. Spring is here and the family pond is waking up.
Last night I got home from work, shed the khakis and tie, and tossed the Chupacabra in the back of the Element for a couple hours pond fix before dark.
The plan was to look for a bluegill or three but instead found a few spunky bass that jumped all over the flies that I had gotten from Tim's Warm Water Flies. The Gill Bug was a favorite and I caught several bass before it got ripped off by a toothy pickerel.
It was really good to get out on the family pond and decompress for a couple hours. I needed it...and will be needing it more as spring turns into summer.

Looking good Cameron! We are still a bit far from that kind of action up here in WNY, but your photos are a great reminder of what is to come!
