This is just another heads up for those who might not yet know, the Orvis Down The Hatch Fishing Festival will be held at Caras Park during the afternoon followed by the Orvis Film Fest at the Wilma Theatre that night.
Early tomorrow morning I am jumping on a flight to Missoula and I hope to be in a river by early afternoon. I'm looking forward to a few days in Montana to get on the water, catch up with friends, and hit the weekend "O Show" festivities as well in Missoula.
The Down The Hatch Fishing Festival will feature live music, gear to check out, gratis Big Sky Brewing beer, local food, and will lead up to the Orvis Film Fest that evening at the Wilma Theatre. Hank Patterson will MC the night, there will be a mix of films to watch, and of course some fine swag to score.
Look for a small T.F.M. table of some sort since I'll have a box full of Retro Fly koozies and T.F.M. decals to give away to those interested. I may even bring out a few demo glass rods for those that would like to cast as well.
The Orvis Film Fest tickets are $10 each and proceeds will go to Montana Trout Unlimited to fund future conservation projects. Your ticket for the night also enters you for some big ticket gear items, trips, and other surprises as well.
Tickets can be purchased on the day of the event or beforehand at Blackfoot River Outfitters and the Grizzly Hackle Fly Shop. Getting tickets before the event might be a good idea as there were over 900 in attendance last year.
Follow along with all the festivities on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #ogr14.
I hope to see a few of you there.
