6 Cool Things To Read

Another week and another collection of six notable links from across the fly fishing internet worth checking out.  Enjoy.

F3T STONEFLY - GIERACH ON TYING & TRAVEL
The Fly Fishing Film Tour Stonefly is a lot more than just full page sponsor ads and each year the magazine gets just a little better.  In this year's issue, John Gierach covers a lot of ground in this article on fly tying and travel.

If you didn't know, the Stonefly magazine is available for free in digital form through an iTunes app.

MIDCURRENT - INTERVIEW WITH JIM BARTSCHI
Design fly rods for over twenty years and you'll know a thing or three.  Jim Bartschi does things a little differently and along the way is responsible for some of the most iconic fly rods in modern times with the Fibertouch and G2 families of fly rods as just a couple examples.

OUTSIDE - THE LAST DAYS OF STEALHEAD JOE
Everyone has personal battles and depression might be one that may not be clearly evident.  Ian Frazier's story of Stealhead Joe is one that should be read and read again.

PALMETTO - INTERVIEW WITH PAUL PUCKETT
When Paul Puckett moved to Charleston several years ago, I told him it would be the best thing to ever happen to his career as an artist and entrepreneur.  Fast forward to the now and he's certainly on the upswing not only in the studio but also with Flood Tide Co.

Palmetto does a very nice job profiling Paul in their first issue.

S.C.O.F. - HOW'S YOUR HAIKU GAME?
The Southern Culture On The Fly blog is alive and well as of late and their recent post collecting the haiku from each issue made for a fun read.

T.F.M. - SUN PROTECTION CLOTHING REVIEW
We are at the doorstep to summer and even though this T.F.M. post is a couple years old most of the sun protection clothing and gear offerings are still available.

Staying covered up when out in the sun is important and this is a good primer outlining the many choices out there.
