2015 Michi-Glass Gathering

For the past several summers a growing group of fiberglass fanatics have been getting together for the annual Michi-Glass event in northern Michigan and the upcoming event on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th looks to be an excellent time for all attending.

Mark McKellip of McKellip Brothers Bamboo Rods is again organizing this event and this two day event includes a casting competition again sponsored by Tycoon Tackle as well as 406 Fly Lines.

From Mark's post on the Fiberglass Flyrodders forum...

"This year will be similar to last year with a casting competition that's been renamed "The Au Sable Cup Casting Championship" that is sponsored again by Tycoon Tackle with an expanded and upgraded prize list of items that include a new Tycoon Tackle fiberglass fly rod for the first place finisher paired with a new "406" brand fly line of your choice, a one day guided Au Sable riverboat trip with a shore lunch provided, coupled with a new "406" fly line of your choice for second place, and for third place a new "406" fly line of your choice. Prizes are being generously provided by Tim O'Brien of Tycoon Tackle and Tom and Alexis Brodhead of 406 Fly Lines."

This year's attendees include many of the known and respected fiberglass fly rod builders along with "Glass Geeks" from all over the United States.  This is an event not to be missed and if the hatch timing is right you'll be able to spend the evenings and nights casting brown drakes and hexes to large hungry brown trout on the Au Sable River and surrounding waters.
