Matt Callies of Loon Outdoors recently sat down at the vise to put together a couple tutorials to share on T.F.M. and the first is a killer pattern called the El Vato Caddis.
No real need for a narrative since you should be able to figure everything out with the photographs. The recipe however, would be helpful, eh?
EL VATO RECIPE:
Hook - Daiichi 1130
Thread - Veevus 50d
Tail - Micro Pearl Core Braid
Float - Brown 2mm Foam
Legs - Black CDC
Thorax - UV Ice Dub & Deer Hair
If you need a video to help you along then check out this LOON LIVE session which will also give you the step by step on this pattern. There is also a bonus Ray Bergman March Brown pattern in the video as well.

Love it!! Great multiple profile looking ant/hopper caddis imitation that I am sure will get a few trout looking up.
Durable as well with a few clear-cure goo applications!
On it, to tHe VISE!!!
Tight Lines,
Koz
What is the wing material?
Thanks for the picture tutorial...I'm going to try it.
