6 Good Reads

Another week and another sixer of the best articles I've come across in fly fishing online media.

Grab another cup of coffee and enjoy.

ALEX LANDEEN'S RAMPING UP THE BLOG
In about a week I'll be leaving for Michigan for the annual Beaver Island week and stoked that Alex is making the trip as part of a rag tag group.  If you haven't read Alex's blog before then start with this previous T.F.M. post linking six stellar posts from Alex's last trip to Beaver Island and then read forward from there.

Alex is threatening to blog from now to next week daily.  We'll see if he can keep up with that self imposed schedule.  Otherwise look for some solid Beaver Island carp, smallmouth, and whatever else from him soon.

TOSH BROWN - MAKING YOU HATE YOUR CUBICLE...AGAIN
Damn you, Tosh.  Just damn.

THE VENTURING ANGLER - THE BEST OF THE BEST
A couple takes on this link to The Venturing Angler.  First, I used to be kind of embarassed that I wrote a blog since it wasn't a "real" website.  Fast forward almost eight years and I really like the format of a blog since I can write daily (or not) and the freshest material is always at the top of the page.  It's also been really great to see the old school websites (Midcurrent, Moldy Chum, etc.) evolve and change over time and many excellent writers and photographers make a space for themselves as well on the internet.

Second, it's an honor to be listed on this breakdown of The Venturing Angler's favorite blogs.  All of these are my daily reads as well.  Bookmark all.

CANOE & KAYAK - MR. BUSH GOES ACADEMIC ON CAMPSTOVES
I have a few cookstoves and it's always interesting to see how others grade and evaluate ones I'm familiar with or not.  There are a couple listed in this article that I'd like to try.

DELTA TROUT FORCE GOES TO CHRISTMAS ISLAND
There are a few places on the list to someday get to and Christmas Island is near the top of that list.  DTF recently returned and posted up a great narrative and images which only made the urge to break the piggy bank and go even greater.

MIDCURRENT - MR. KARCZYNSKI ON THE DIGITAL AGE
The internet (and every app and way to connect) is a crazy place and Dave Karczynski penned a good primer for anglers in the digital age.  As usual, Dave is spot on with his take.

What's on your online reading list this week?
