Bookending The Days

This past weekend my family left for an almost three week trip to Michigan and since I couldn't score that many days away, I've been left home to keep the house together, feed the chickens and gather the eggs, mess around in the family garden (we have blueberries for days...), and so far I've been able to bookend the days on the pond with a morning and or an evening session.

With daytime temperatures in the high 90's, it doesn't make much sense to stay out much past two hours at dawn and two hours at dusk.  I've been screwing around (without much luck) with the grass carp in the pond but have picked off several bass and quite a few large bluegills which sent me home without being skunked.

Here's a mash up of images from the past few days on the water.

For those wondering, I've spent all my time lately with the Orvis Superfine six weight matched with an Abel Classic (Smallmouth finish) and Scientific Anglers Anadro fly line and the forever favorite, Swift Fly Fishing Epic 686 matched with a Douglas Outdoors 3 1/2" Argus with the Epic Glassline weight forward fly line.
