The Orvis Company - 3 Cool Things

The wheels are always turning at Orvis and I wanted to pass along three cool things that are worth checking out.

The idea of a digital catalog has been in the hopper for sometime at Orvis and a flip through of the 22 pages will show you that this is a new direction, which I really like.  It's about telling stories and along the way talking about gear instead of picking up the print catalog and it's just all about the latest gear page after page.  I like this and looking forward to seeing future issues.

Now through June 19th you can bring your used, but in good shape, fly rods into an Orvis shop to trade in for 20% off a U.S.A. made Orvis fly rod which includes the Superfine Glass series of fly rods.  Swapped fly rods are donated to charitable organizations to get children into fly fishing.
You get a new fly rod and a kid somewhere learns the joy of fly fishing.  I see this as a win win.

The new Orvis ad creative for the month focuses on the new Pivot Wading Boot and the product developers have put a lot of time and homework into the design of these boots.  This video gives some background on the making and design and if you're in the market for a new pair of wading boots, I'd try these on for size.

On more for extra credit.  Have you ever wanted to work for Orvis?  They are looking for someone in Rod & Tackle Product Development.  It might be time to brush up that resume.
