It's been awhile since the last round up of "6 Good Listens" and here's a few podcasts (along with some extra credit links) to keep your ears and eyes busy over the weekend.
MILLHOUSE PODCAST WITH FLIP PALLOT
Andy and Nicky Mill have kicked off a new podcast and I'm highlighting Episode 3 with Flip Pallot but circle back and start from the beginning. Follow along on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube too.
THE TAILGATE PODCAST HEEDS THE CALL
You should already know that I'm a big fan of Howler Brothers and this podcast with Chase and Rick covers a lot of ground in a little less than an hour. Extra credit listen is the latest with Duck Camp, which is another Austin based company with a lot of future potential.
ANCHORED WITH COPPER PLATED SIXES
I like that April isn't afraid to push the envelope and her interview with Copper Plated Sixes is on my listening list for this weekend. Though not a fan of troll accounts, he almost daily is calling out the fly fishing and hunting industry with some legitimate points along with reminding and educating on what we should be focused on from a conservation front often as well.
The extra credit link goes to April's conversation with Erin Block and the two of them cover a lot on everything from her growing up years, finding and hunting your own food, women in the industry and her journey as a writer. Don't skip this one.
REMOTE NO PRESSURE WITH MR. BARCLAY
Chris Barclay of C. Barclay Fly Rod Co. continues to build some of the finest small shop (typically for small water) fly rods available today and it's great to hear him on this podcast. I can't wait to get my hands on a Synthesis 68 later this spring.
DRIFTING WITH JT VAN ZANDT & ETHAN HAWKE
This is a two-part suggestion with giving this podcast a listen and then find the movie, which Ethan Hawke directed, titled "Blaze". This movie spotlights the life of Blaze Foley and the podcast gives a lot of background on how the film was made, JT's experiences as the son of Townes and his relationship with Blaze Foley. No happy ending here but both the podcast and movie are excellent.
FLOOD TIDE CO. - MONDAY MORNING CHATTER
Who wouldn't want to start their week with Paul Puckett and crew talking the weekend, music, fishing, travel and whatever else is happening at Flood Tide Co. headquarters? Oh yeah, and look for the Spring 2020 Collection to drop next week...
Alright, there's your podcast six-pack for the week. If I'm missing a good one, please let me know.
