YDCCF - Belizean Flyfishing Guides Support Fund

It's no secret that the coronavirus pandemic has hit so many in so many different ways.  Travel, especially to international destinations, continues to be shut down and even when it opens there may be many who will hesitate to travel anywhere anytime soon.

Yellow Dog Community & Conservation Foundation has kicked off a fundraiser with the help of AFFTA and a growing list of industry partners to support Belizean guides who have likely not worked and may be slow to return to work when the country reopens in October.

I have a real soft spot for Belize.  It's where my journey (which I am still on) to catch a permit began and in a half dozen trips to Dangriga, Hopkins, and Placencia, there are people, places, foods and Belikins, and of course memories of the flats that fuel a constant need to return.

We'll get past this damn virus, but in the meantime, those guides in Belize need our help.

You can make a donation on the YDCCF website or consider supporting the auctions and fundraisers that are listed below...

FISHPOND - AUCTION FOR BELIZEAN GUIDE RELIEF
Yesterday, the folks at Fishpond kicked off an auction for a package that includes the Thunderhead Submersible Backpack, Dakota Carry On Rod & Reel Case, and Limited Edition Fishpond River Couch.  100% of the proceeds will be donated to the YDCCF.

This auction will end on September 25, 2020 at 9:30 p.m. MST.

REP YOUR WATER - BELIZE YELLOW DOG COLLAB HAT
Through the month of September, all proceeds from the Belize Collab Hat will be donated to YDCCF.  You can buy this hat directly through the Rep Your Water website.

Edgar at SLP is always looking for ways to give back and has created a landing page where 50% of the purchase will be donated to YDCCF.  Check out the pieces that are part of this collection.

I'll be keeping my eyes and ears open to additional auctions and fundraisers that will support the Belizean guides that I know and have fished with.
