FLY FISH FOOD - Tying the Pheasant Tail X-Caddis

I grew up in Michigan and spent long days in the early 2000's on the Muskegon River, which at that time and maybe still now, had absolute epic caddis hatches.  If memory serves, these were green or cinnamon body caddis and on any good day, waves followed by another wave of bugs would come off the river.  Trout would be looking up but tended to get picky.  In those times, a small X-Caddis fly pattern would typically get their attention for a sip.

This Fly Fish Food tutorial from a few years ago is a good one and if you don't have X-Caddis in a few body colors and sizes, you should.  They can be a day saver.

Check out the Fly Fish Food website and subscribe to their YouTube channel for all the goodness.
