FlyFisher Magazine - The Fiber Glass Fly Rods Issue

Last fall, I received an email from Tomonori Higashi and he explained that FlyFisher Magazine was devoting an entire issue to fiberglass fly rods and asked me for a short interview.  We connected a few weeks later with a Zoom call and I sent a stack of images and it wasn't until last week, when a copy arrived in the mail, of what the final version of the article looked like.  

"Flying the Glass Flag" is the perfect title and what an honor to be included in this special edition issue.

I am absolutely blown away with the content and images used throughout the 164 page magazine.  It's a stunning mix of current makers from Japan, the United States, and beyond with a strong nod to vintage glass, and a neat touch is that all the ads from everyone from ECHO to Orvis to Scott Fly Rods are all fiberglass focused.  The attention to detail through this special edition issue is amazing and it's printed in heavy high-quality paper.  It's more book than magazine.

I checked with Tomonori and if you'd like a copy of this issue, you can find it online and on Amazon in Japan, through the price of postage may not be reasonable.  Tomonori recommended purchasing the digital download though he did mention that the conversion won't self-adjust to the screen size so readers should have a large display to read it comfortably.

I want to say thank you to Tomonori and FlyFisher Magazine for including me in this very special issue and I'll cherish the print copy that I have in my library.  If you can get your hands on one, it's worth it.
