This short film shows the inner workings at Abel Reels and even though it's been linked on a few other blogs and websites I figured I'd share it here as well.
I found it most interesting to see how fish print and special order finishes are done with a set of artists doing each piece by brush stroke by brush stroke before final anodizing.

I'm a little torn- the video was like a throwback to 1950's corporate schlock (where did they get the voiceover guy) but now I want an Abel reel. With a brook trout finish.
FR...I watched it again today and have to admit the voice over is a little over the top. Mute it and watch it again. HA...
Hehheh, as an old fart I thought maybe the guy was gonna suggest that in an emergency I "duck & cover". Great clip, though, I've often wondered how the art work is reproduced. REALLY cool to see that American craftspeople are getting a fair wage for quality work. Bravo to Abel for not falling prey to the allure of the almighty dollar & outsourcing any of their work!
James...I agree. You pay for the Abel product but I don't mind since it's work done in the U.S.A.
