Yesterday afternoon Shane Gray of Graywolf Rods took a few minutes and forwarded a few photographs of the freshly finished Build #99 which should be making it's way soon to my doorstep. I am stoked.
Build #99 was built on an 8'3" Steffen Brothers 6/7 weight blank and came out just as I hoped that it would. My only request to Shane was to keep it simple which he did with just a bit of grumbling. Shane smartly built up the varnish on the wraps more than usual since this fly rod will be doing both freshwater and saltwater work and he wanted to make sure that the wraps were properly protected.
