Graywolf Rods - Swift Epic 990

There are only a few Swift Epic 990 blanks that have been sent out to a couple select rod builders and Shane Gray of Graywolf Rods ended up with two from the first batch that he's built and passed along to clients who have been eagerly waiting for them.

This Epic 990 build is yet another example of Shane's top notch work and built with saltwater fly fishing in mind with a Lemke titanium reel seat, titanium stripping guides, and Snake Brand guides.

As soon as it was complete, this nine foot nine weight build was sent to Brian Correia and he's already had a chance to get out in the wild with it on a recent striper trip.

Brian wrote...  "Hello.  I had the opportunity to fish the flats in Chatham, Massachusetts this past Thursday and Friday with guide Joe Fitzback of Cape Cod Charters.  Thursday was a perfect day with plenty of striped bass on the flats as well as some large bluefish.

The rod was a newly built Epic 990, courtesy of Shane Gray of Graywolf Rods.  Shane did an excellent job as usual and exceeded my expectations as well as meeting a very tight deadline.  The rod handled these fish and quite a bit of wind at times with ease.

A Rio Aqualux intermediate nine weight line was a good fit for me.

By the way...I had my lucky TFM cap on!"

"It's like, how much more blue could this be? and the answer is none. None more blue."
