Things have somewhat slowed down at Leiderman Rods this summer as Matt Leiderman has been working on an advanced degree, and any time spent outside of class has been spent with family, and less so in the rod shop.
Matt recently finished an Swift Fly Fishing Epic 686 build which is a departure from his typical builds with the use of acrylic in the hardware but is no less another excellent example of his work.
Matt wrote... "This is the last Epic build for a bit and it's another 686. This one is "hot-rodded" out a bit more than usual. I was instructed by my client to have fun with this build and I did!
I like the look and I think it goes with the type of rod and blanks Swift Fly Fishing is putting out there. This build might not be for everyone but it's visually striking in the sun as the blank, agate, and acrylic seat insert and butt cap are semi-translucent and glow. Blackened aluminum accents on the ferrules round things out.
It will hopefully catch some big browns in the near future!"
