I have been following the workmanship of Kyle Hoover of NC River Nets for quite some time now and have been extremely impressed with the nets that he builds. He's active on social media so it's been easy to keep track of his latest net builds and when he contacted me a few months ago about doing a T.F.M. weekend giveaway, I was stoked to be able to give away one of these excellent nets.
A wooden net is an essential piece of fly fishing equipment and yes, you can buy one anywhere, but there is something special knowing that yours came from a small shop builder who's making them one at a time, choosing only the best pieces of wood, and to a higher level of craftsmanship than you might find elsewhere.
WEEKEND GIVEAWAY
Kyle Hoover of NC River Nets has built one of his Dan-Tailrace nets to be given away to someone in the T.F.M. readership. This net features a black walnut and white ash hoop with rubber Catch & Release netting. The dimensions of the hoop are 9"X15" followed by a 7" poplar handle. The Dan-Tailrace net measures 23" in total length and Kyle burned #glassisnotdead in the side of the handle for extra measure.
THE RULES
1. Send an email to tfmcontests@gmail.com and tell me what you'd put in your NC River Nets Dan-Tailrace net?
2. Please send only ONE EMAIL submission per email address. Duplicates will be deleted.
3. Submissions will be accepted until 6:00 a.m. Monday, July 7th, 2014.
4. On Monday morning ONE WINNER will be chosen by random number generator and then listed at the bottom of this post. Winners will also be contacted by email as well.
5. The winner will receive a NC River Nets Dan-Tailrace net.
THE WINNER
There were almost 300 email entries sent in for this weekend giveaway and the random number generator picked RYAN MILLER as the winner. Congrats.
Be sure to check out the NC River Nets website and follow along on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well.
