6 Cool Things To Read

A couple weeks ago I posted "6 Cool Things To Read" while inflight to Montana and it got me thinking this might be a good regular feature to highlight some of the favorite things that I come across online that deserve sharing and a few more looks.

Here's this week's sixer of goodness from around the fly fishing internet.

MIDCURRENT - ERIN BLOCK
The world needs more Erin Block and it's really cool to see her writing showing up online and in print more often.  Her latest short in Midcurrent is a good example of her talents.

Still need more Ms. Block?  Visit HERE.

ORVIS NEWS - OCTOBER WET WADING
The boys from Orvis break free from the cubicle farm for an October wet wading session in the Green Mountains for dry fly brookies.  Tom Rosenbauer crept around in the woods and was behind the lens making the images for this post.  Well done, Comrades.

FISHBEER
Matt Dunn doesn't update his blog often but when it does, he damn does.  His essays are a mix of fly fishing that can get a little dark sometimes and the photographs hardly ever match the prose, but who cares.  Start at the top and roll backwards through the posts.

GINK & GASOLINE - PUCKETT ON THE INDUSTRY
Paul Puckett puts the Sharpie and brush down for a minute to knock out this post on G&G and puts some ideas out there about the fly fishing industry that I completely agree with.

Why do we need new things all the damn time?

FLY FISH FOOD - SOFT HACKLE GENIUSES
We all need more soft hackles in our fly boxes and the Junk Yard Soft Hackle from the fellows at Fly Fish Food is a new must have.  Read it.  Watch the video.  Tie up a dozen.

TOSH BROWN - GOES WEST, TAKES CAMERA
One of my favorite newsletter type emails is from Tosh Brown to tip off that there is a new photo blog post to check out and this month's update is a Montana and Idaho junket for Frontiers.  These B-roll images are a great escape and have me jonesing for a another trip back out west.

Enjoy your weekend.  Cheers...

Great post Cameron. Especially enjoyed finding fishbeer. Now that's the kind of fishing writing you don't read every day. great stuff!
