There are a couple ways to do Beaver Island this summer and it would be best to make your plans soon. The boys at Indigo Guide Service and Grab Your Fly Charters have just a handful of days still open or you can jump in on one of several trips through CARPTRIP.com if there is still room.
Let me say this about Beaver Island. You don't need to stay a week to make the trip worth it. The first trip that I did in 2011 a friend and I flew over that morning, had a crazy day with the smallmouth, and flew back that evening. Staying more than a couple days lets you work around bad weather or conditions. Ferry or plane, it's so easy to get to the island that you don't need to commit to a week long trip. I do a week since I really dig the island and chasing those carp (and smallmouth) in clear blue green water is so damn addicting.
