If you're in the WNC area, or can get there, Orvis and the Asheville Brewers Alliance will be kicking the winter doldrums on Tuesday, February 23rd beginning at 4 p.m. with the Down The Hatch event at the Renaissance Hotel and Asheville Community Theatre. This will be an evening of games, music, local pints, giveaways, and fly fishing films. What's not to like?

"We're teaming up with the Asheville Brewers Alliance for a fly fishing and beer festival extravaganza! Enjoy local craft beers, cheer on the Orvis Guide Olympics finalists, listen to some local live music, and check out the latest gear.
After, we'll head across the street to the Asheville Community Theatre for the Down the Hatch Fly-Fishing Film Festival to amp you up for the 2016 season.
Entrance to the film fest is $10, including two beer tickets and an entry into the raffle for some sweet new Orvis equipment, and gear from our Down the Hatch friends and supporters.
100% of the proceeds from the event (ticket sales, raffles, etc...) will be donated to a “Get the Tread Out” river cleanup planned for the Watauga River in October of 2016

There are some great supporters for the event, with T.F.M. listed among them, and it's going to be a fun evening out. Proceeds from the event support the Watauga River clean up.
