It's been a couple years since Chris Barclay of C. Barclay Fly Rod Co. and I have had a chance to get on the water together which was highlighted in a Last Minute Plans and listening to him being interviewed on the Remote. No Pressure. podcast this morning has me thinking it's time to get a date on the calendar to meet up again.
Chris covers a lot of ground in this less than an hour interview with Jeff Troutman of Remote. No Pressure. and it's definitely worth a listen. Every craftsman has a story of what lead them and it's interesting to hear what drew Chris to fly fishing and what got him started in building fly rods.

Wow fantastic blog, thanks for sharing. Don't go out and buy the most expensive fishing pole and reel you can find. There are some great fishing rod packages you can pick up for $20 or less which include sinkers, hooks, and floats. I started off with a Shakespeare medium action fishing rod that still does a good job. In time, you may want to change out the reel to something more reliable and smooth but the spinning reel that comes with these packages will work fine.spinning rods
