This past weekend I spent a lot of time getting ready for an upcoming week long trip to Michigan. On the way up I'll be attending the Fly Fishing Film Tour in Columbus, Ohio (buy ticket and bring some money for the raffles) and then the rest of the weekend will be spent at the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo where I will be presenting Saturday afternoon and have a T.F.M. booth too.
I am excited to have been asked to present a 45 minute presentation on "The Reinvention of the Fiberglass Fly Rod" Saturday afternoon at 4:30. I will also have a couple dozen fiberglass fly rods from a wide assortment of makers at the T.F.M. booth as well. These demo rods will cover examples of line weights from one weight to eight weight and price ranges from $30 to over $1,200. There really is a glass fly rod for just about every budget.
Stop by the T.F.M. booth to talk fiberglass and demo a fly rod at the casting pond. I'll be running a show special on T.F.M. t-shirts and decals that I'll have with me for sale. I will also be giving away a South Fork Rod Company "Lodge Rod" and a few Eagle Claw Featherlight fly rods as well so stop by and sign up for the giveaways.
Everyone that I have talked to about the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo has talked very highly of it and I look forward to attending. The list of exhibitors and seminars looks solid and the weekend should be a great time.
The Midwest Fly Fishing Expo will be held at the Macomb Community College Sports & Expo Center. Admission is $10 for adults and children age 16 and under get in free. Check out the website for more details.
