Michael Decoteau's Instagram

I've been talking about the photo app Instagram for the past six months and continue to find it to be an ever interesting way to tweak and share photos taken on my iPhone.

One of the more serious users is Michael Decoteau, who goes by "tightloops", and his daily photo uploads are always quite striking.  Michael gets the app and how to make the best use of it, whether is be a filter choice or tweaking with the tilt feature.

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

I asked Michael if he'd send along a stack of his favorite photographs along with a few notes on why he enjoys this app so much.

Michael wrote...  "I started using Instagram as a way to edit photos that I was taking with my phone to give them the feeling of the moment, to give the image a little soul.  As I continued to snap away, it became clear that the subject matter that I most enjoyed shooting was anything fly fishing related. Since I began using the app in January of this year, the number of fly fisherman from all over the world uploading their images has grown significantly.  Images tagged #flyfishing have increased from around 200 to over 1300."

Have an iPhone?  Get on Instagram and follow Michael at "tightloops".
