Recently I was involved in a successful Kickstarter project which funded the film Picture the Leviathan which chronicled the artistic process of James Prosek as he collected and then painted life size fish portraits for his latest book, Ocean Fishes.
I enjoyed this film quite a bit and it was neat to see inside this long term art project which took James Prosek and the film crew all over the world collecting specimens followed by time in the studio bringing them back to life with paint on the brush.
