BadAxe Design - Long Ear Sunfish

I've been more than amazed this year with how many artists have devoted their time to create something special that follows the theme of the "Year of the Bluegill" and Jonathan Marquardt of BadAxe Design switched it up recently from working with linocut and picked up his brush to create the Long Ear Sunfish on canvas with oils.

I really enjoy Jonathan's style and there little wonder why his artwork is showing up in print and online magazines, fly fishing websites, and that he's working with companies of all sorts to incorporate his logo designs and artwork into apparel and gear products.

No doubt, BadAxe Design has got a lot going on, and like myself with T.F.M., this is his after work job which makes it even more impressive.

The other day a package arrived from BadAxe Designs and inside was a 11X14 print of the Long Ear Sunfish that will soon be framed and hung on a wall in our house or at my office.

Oh yeah...I've got 1/250 which I am kind of stoked about.

There are three ways that you can purchase your own Long Ear Sunfish from BadAxe Designs.  The original oil painting is available and this painting is also available as a high quality print in sizes 11X14" or 16X20"

Check out the BadAxe Designs website for more on Jonathan's work and the Esty page to see what artwork he has available for purchase.

It was definitely my year of the bluegill. Perhaps even dethroning trout on this particular day: http://www.brauntrutta.com/2013/06/bluegill-is-new-trout.html
