Graywolf Rods "Dream Rod" Finished

I don't know if you know this about Shane Gray of Graywolf Rods or not, but he lives for salmon season in northern Michigan each fall and every year builds up a fly rod or two to take along on his annual trip.  Leading up to this year's trip, Shane has been working on a few additions to his Signature S-Glass line up and is now offering an 8'6" four piece eight weight that he's calling his "Dream Rod"

Shane's really excited about this blank and I'll be looking forward to hearing how to handles the chinook salmon on his trip.  Heavy weight glass is finding more and more fans for it's inherent blank strength and has the ability to leverage large fish without the risk of breaking tippets since you are fighting the fish across the entire plane of the fly rod.

The Graywolf Rods website recently went through a refresh and Shane has added a few new propitiatory series of glass fly rods to the list of offerings.

I don't think there is a custom fly rod builder out there right now who is offering a more varied line up of fiberglass fly rods than Shane.  He's worked very hard to source high quality blanks in both E-Glass and S-Glass in a variety of his own tapers, from blank makers in the U.S.A. and elsewhere, and his craftsmanship in rod building beyond excellent.

Check out the Graywolf Rods website, Blog, and Facebook page for more information and examples of his work.
