The Fine Tackle build series continues with Christian Hörgren fitting the reel seat and hardware for the custom Swift Fly Fishing Epic 580 that he is working on.
Christian wrote... "I mortise my cork reel seats by hand. Sometimes I use a scalpel and cut a recessed mortise, but on this build I decided to make it seamless with a file and grit paper. It’s important to aim for a tight fit, and let the flex of the cork do the job to keep the reel in place. "
