12 DAYS - SmithFly

I guess I've been following along with what SmithFly has been up to for over three years now and in that time I have gotten to know Ethan Smith really well and consider him a friend.  One of the things that I really commend him for is sticking to his mantra of "MADE IN U.S.A." with all of his products even when it would be way cheaper to have his products sewn out of country.  I like the commitment and I like his products even more for it.

Looking back at 12 Days of Christmas giveaways past, the Switch Bag always has a way of working itself in and it's definitely my favorite product of theirs followed closely by the Cooler Kilt which I have as part of a YETI Cooler 35 project that I put together last year.  The Switch Bag is nearly bomb proof in make, it's easy to add whichever Pouches (or other MOLLE able gear) to the exterior, and the interior has more than enough room for large fly boxes, accessories, lunch, and whatever else.  Essentially the Switch Bag is great with, or without, Pouches or anything else at all.  The wide comfortable strap makes carrying this bag easy and it's quality through and through.

The Digi Pouch is another handy accessory to have around to stow your DSLR and the webbing on the front makes it easy to add an El Poquito and 1X Pouch.  It's essential to be able to keep my camera gear dry.

The El Poquito is perfect for keeping your hemos, pliers, and nippers close at hand and this accessory can be used with any of the SmithFly collection or just use in your pants pocket or around the strap of any other gear bag that you might use.  I prefer the model with the zinger over the coiled cord.

Lastly, the webbing on nearly all of the SmithFly gear items makes it easy for anglers to fine tune how they want to set up things up with several different Pouches to choose from.  All three can be quite useful depending on which SmithFly gear item you're working with.  The zippers are high quality and the flaps stay shut with magnetic closures.

If you're looking for a gear bag that will last after years of hard use then look no further than the SmithFly Switch Bag.

Enjoying your reconnaissance of fly fishing and outdoor equipment. Great blog and great ideas for our September fly fishing group.
