I like to see people take their interests to the nth degree and Jesse Hebenton of Far West Fly Rods might have just done that with his latest Wu-Tang edition fly rod build.
C.R.E.A.M. = Corona Rules Everything Around Me
It's really neat to see Scaly Designs and SpeyCo Fly Reels on this project too.
Jesse wrote... "For those who have been following my work at Far West Fly Rods, this is the fourth Wu-Tang edition rod I've built. With that being said, the concept for this rod has been in my head for quite some time. I waited a while for all the pieces to come together from the tube which was painted by Scaly Designs and the reel made from the guys at SpeyCo Fly Reels.
I've been a huge fan of the Wu-Tang Clan since an early teenager with 36 Chambers being one of my favorite all time albums. I figured what's a better tribute then to bring the Shaolin style down to the river.
This fly rod build features honeycomb acrylic, birch bark and burl cork, mounted on a Blue Halo Raw 8' five weight blank."
Here's a well timed bonus feature for this T.F.M. post of a short music documentary on ODB and the Wu-Tang Clan to check out.
Take a look at more of Jesse's work on the Far West Fly Rods website and follow along with the latest shop news on Facebook and Instagram.
