I met Danny Reed soon after he kicked off the Crooked Creek Holler website and early on he talked about the idea that he had for a taking his online store and turning it into a brick and mortar shop. He never lost that dream and last week opened the doors to a store on Haywood Road in Asheville where he'll be offering Crooked Creek Holler apparel, limited edition and collaboration runs of gear, and essentially handpicking everything in this small, (read eclectic mix of outdoors and angling gear) shop space.
The "Brands We Carry" page of the website is a good idea of what Danny has cooking in at the store.
Danny has had a long standing relationship with Shane Gray of Graywolf Rods and asked him to put together a dozen (with more on the way) fly rods which cover the bases from 0 weight to 8 weight in glass along with a few glass spinning rods too. This first batch of rods is some of Shane's best and most interesting work.
I can't wait to make a quickie trip up to Asheville to see the store. I continue to be proud of Danny and the success that he's seen as a tattooist, artist, and businessman.
In or passing through Asheville? Make a stop at Crooked Creek Holler which is located at 257 Haywood Road or place an order online.
