You might not know this but rod builder Matt Leiderman balances family and a career in teaching with a busy, but on his own pace, rod shop. Typically, summertime is when Matt deep dives into both commission and builds that he posts up as available.
With another school year about to start for him, this a glimpse of what kept his busy this summer and
he may still have a couple builds still available. I've grabbed the
images and narrative from social media to share here. Neither if these
builds will stay for sale long so email him immediately if you want to add
either (or both) to your fly rod stash.
I've said it before and it's worth say again that there are few who match Matt's incredible skill as a rod builder and he gets extra credit points for his wood and metal work. His builds are steps ahead of many other custom fly rod builders and the quality shows in his photographs.

I didn’t already own this taper, I’d be keeping it. The Ijuin-Rod Yomogi
7’3” 4-weight is, in my opinion, the best short 4-weight out there. And damn...it’s a pretty blank. I’ve missed building on these and happy to report
blanks are coming to the United States again.
