Just days after Hurricane Ida rolled through Louisiana, and continued it's way up the east coast wrecking havoc, Josh Mills of Chucking Lines and Chasing Tail and now with Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, started mobilizing and pushing #fliesforida on Instagram to help those in need.
This isn't the first time Millsy has stepped up with a #fliesfor... campaign and when he gets to heaven (assuming...), his crown is going to have a few extra jewels in it for sure from the good he's done for others.
This isn't the first time Millsy has stepped up with a #fliesfor... campaign and when he gets to heaven (assuming...), his crown is going to have a few extra jewels in it for sure from the good he's done for others.
There's two ways to help in this...
First, post up a set of flies
you've tied, gear you've built, or trip you're offering to be bid on
your Instagram page with the hashtag #fliesforida. Typically bids are
taken for a week and you can donate the money given to a fund that is
supporting those affected by Hurricane Ida. The guides down there can really use a bump right now.
Second, search the
hashtag #fliesforida and bid on a few items. There are flies, trips,
and even a custom fiberglass fly rod build up for bids right now. Things are just getting started with this so keep checking back for additional auctions that will go up in the coming days.
Let's see what we can all do to help those affected by Hurricane Ida with this push.
